The Opportunity
The Distillery District in Toronto is one of Canada’s premier retail, dining and arts destinations, offering year-round events and programming alongside its 85+ local shops, restaurants, galleries and cafés. As the Agency of Record since 2020, we keep the site top of mind for local residents, visitors across Canada and international travellers; we storytell on behalf of its tenants and support its reputation when crises arise.
The Results
Monthly coverage in local, national and international print, online, broadcast media, influencers, and social.
Next PR leads communications campaigns and manages international proactive and reactive media relations, influencer engagement, content development, spokesperson preparedness, reputation and issues management, thought leadership, external communications (website, newsletters and paid advertising), store openings, and alignment with the social team.
We promote festivals and events throughout the year, providing on-the-ground media, talent and government relations support, producing live broadcast segments, and media training spokespeople. Most notably, we support The Distillery Winter Village, recognized as one of the best Christmas markets globally, generating over 3 billion in reach and attracting one million visitors each year.
In 2025, we executed a Support Local campaign that highlighted the artisans and makers of The Distillery through storytelling on social, national earned media, influencer partnerships, staycation social giveaways, and advertising. This showcased The Distillery’s authentic commitment to their community during a highly relevant geo-political moment and helped achieve our broader goals: driving foot traffic, reinforcing Distillery’s identity as a destination for quality Canadian-made goods, and giving people a reason to shop on-site.
